pound(s)100m hotel and office portfolio put up for sale
HOTELS in Perth and Edinburgh plus office accommodation in Glasgow form part of the pound(s)100 million portfolio owned by Scottish entrepreneurs David Cameron and Bruce Linton that has been put up for sale. It comprises the assets owned by Camlin Investments, a 50/50 joint venture between Cameron, owner of Aviemore-based Upland Developments and Linton, who owns Dundee- based James Keiller Estates.
The Camlin portfolio, which is made up of 16 assets and includes 14 standing assets and two development sites, carries around pound(s)70m of debt held by a consortium of banks including Lloyds Banking Group. It includes the Lovat and Queens hotels in Perth, the C-listed former Barnton Hotel, Edinburgh and the Academy Park office complex in Glasgow.
Aberdeen showcase for islands produce
FOOD and drink suppliers from Orkney and Shetland will have the opportunity to showcase their produce to senior retail and food service buyers at an event on board a ferry moored in Aberdeen Harbour next month. Organised by industry organisation Scotland Food & Drink, the event will feature chef demonstrations and a networking lunch featuring island produce.
Buyers are also being offered an optional onward tour to Orkney or Shetland to visit producers. With its outstanding natural environment, Shetland boasts specialities such as lamb, mutton, seafood and fish while Orkney is famed for its shellfish, cheese and oatcakes. PR firm's capital office wins two key contracts
PUBLIC relations firm Weber Shandwick's Edinburgh office has won two major new contracts. One is for the Scottish Government's Smoking Cessation campaign, which aims to encourage adults wishing to quit to contact Smokeline, and also raise awareness of new legislation surrounding the Tobacco and Primary Medical Services (Scotland) Bill. The main audiences for this strand of the campaign are tobacco retailers and under 18s.
Meanwhile, the agency has netted the Sea Fish Industry Authority's annual Fish and Chip Shop of the Year competition. Lesley Clark, deputy managing director of Weber Shandwick in Scotland, said: "Picking up two high-profile accounts in a row is a fantastic achievement for the agency."
